Noises with either CPAP or hose

Posted by boxiebunny on August 14, 2007 at 10:22:05:

I have been on CPAP for about 2 months. I am using the ramping feature. I have noticed that as I am falling asleep, about 20 minutes after turning it on (right when it gets to the highest amount of air), I start hearing odd noises, but I don't know where they are coming from. These have been waking me up. One noise sounds like the hose grating against something (I checked and the hose hadn't moved). The second noise is music of some sort. One night it sounded like someone singing. Last night it was more instrumental. I don't think that I am dreaming and I don't think that I am making the noises myself, because last night I was definitely awake, sat up and listened. It only lasts a short while. Sometimes I wonder if my CPAP is haunted :), but then is something happening as it finishes the ramp-up because it happens around the same time, every time I use the ramp.
