As I understand your posting, you started taking sleeping pills to relieve sleeplessness after jaw surgery and now you're trying to stop taking sleeping pills. So, you are at least somewhat addicted which is causing your sleep problems when you don't take the pills. Anxiety is probably not your problem, right? Still, trying melatonin or milk as other options is not a bad idea. Both can work and ease the transition off of sleeping pills. Still you may have to resign yourself to taking a few days off when you can afford to lose sleep and just tough it out, cold turkey. You should be back to normal in less than a week.
