Posted by Opal on August 24, 2007 at 22:25:59:I was diagnosed with obstructive sleep apnea after a sleep study a little over a week ago. The doctor said I held the record for the worse case of obstructive sleep apnea they had at their sleep clinic this year. He said I had 117 evnts per hour. Some of the ones he showed me on the computer ranged from 30 seconds to over a minute. My lowest oxygen level was 74%. The technician that helped set me up with a CPAP machine said she's seem much worse cases, and I don't need a BiPap machine. I do have a cold, so it's a little hard to tell how it will eventually feel...but it is really hard to breathe with the nasal pillows. It is hard to exhale and feels like I am really working at it. Is this normal?
