The recommended titration from my last sleep study was a setting of 9.0. We started the range at 6-12, but have lowered it to 11 after I complained about it seeming to always float up to 12 and staying stuck there.

We backed off to 11 with almost no increase in average AHI.

I had the software for the Puritan Bennett, but haven't been able to get the reader/software for the Remstar. When I asked, the rep said they are no longer allowed to sell it to patients. I've looked around and haven't been able to find it anywhere. It seems they've effectively pulled the software from the market, so I have no way to read the nightly results, but can only see the moving 7 and 31 day averages from the display.

I'm continuing to experience waking with the APAP stuck at the highest setting and I can lie still and breathe for several minutes on my own and the pressure does NOT backoff. I think it should. With it behaving like this, it's nothing more than a CPAP with a really slow ramp time. It makes me wonder if they pulled the software from the patients, because we were starting to notice that their algorithms for determing pressure aren't so reliable....

I was using the CPAP for years before switching to the APAP because of periods of daytime sleepiness which I think was due to needing different pressure settings on different nights (from body position, allergy season, or whatever). The three sleep studies I've had had greatly varying titration recommendations (based on very little actual sleep, btw.)

Do you experience that your APAP goes to the highest setting and remains there even after waking?
