I'm in favor of making sure that the driver behind the wheel is in safe condition to drive. That goes for both personal and CDL licenses.

In the KC article there is no mention as to WHY the states that were mentioned are the most cited states. And it really didn't quantify the severity of the infringing states.

I'll say it again, if you have sleep apnea get it checked out; get the proper rest that you need. If you can't then you should think 30 times before getting behind the wheel of any vehicle!

One thing I picked up on was that being on SS or Disability does not preclude someone from obtaining a CDL. In reality and maybe contrary to some parts that I've stated in my previous post, a CDL determines the size and configuration of what vehicle(s) you are legally allowed to drive. The assumption in the word "Commercial" is that you are a driver for hire (being paid money to drive) which does not necessarily have to occur.
