strange sleep study results

Posted by smck on September 10, 2007 at 17:47:03:

Hi everyone. I recently got diagnosed with sleep apnea and have been reading the forums here and have found your feedback really helpful.

I am meeting with my doctor tomorrow to review my sleep study results, but I noticed something strange. I have an RDI of 46 all obstructive but mostly hypnoapneas. All of my events occur in NREM sleep though... I had no apnea/hypnoapnea events in REM sleep at all and I had around 60 minutes of REM sleep (20%).

I am going to ask my doctor tomorrow, but was curious if anyone else had similar study results and what it might mean?

Thanks,
smck
