I think CPAP is probably effective even with one nostril blocked, but at least for me, it's very uncomfortable. Are you using a heated humidifier with your CPAP? If not, I strongly recommend you get one. If you do have one, it possibly needs turning up to a higher setting. You should be using at least half the water in the chamber every night.
