Posted by Alamo Joe on September 12, 2007 at 14:07:20:I have had all the surgeries and have been living with some problems. I had to have orthodontic work done after jaw advancement because my teeth moved. Recently I decided that I should get a CPAP to overcome the residual problems and to overcome the problem of aging. After using CPAP for a period of time I found that I had trouble flossing my teeth. It was difficult to get the floss between my teeth. Sometimes the floss was shredded. Yesterday I went to the orthodontist (First time in 14 years.) I mentioned that I suspected the CPAP mask was the cause. The tech reported that I was not the first to make such a report.
Comments please.
I can't use nasal pillows because the pressure is too high.
Some years (Many) ago I used a restraint to prevent opening my mouth. When I woke up, I sat straight up in bed, took care of private needs and then took my blood pressure. It was something like 165 over 115. I am leery of using a mouth restraint.
