If you're not overweight and you didn't have allergies a long time ago, chances are your apnea is from something else -- the structure of your face (recessed jaw, weak chin, narrow palate or jaws), or you may have excess tissue in your throat; ie., large tonsils, uvula, floppy soft palate.

These are all things you will want to bring up and discuss with your ENT. From my experience ( and I have seen a plethora of docs over the years...one opinion is not always correct, so go with your gut).
