You can find this information in the back of the book "The Promise of Sleep". There in an appendix with recommended major sleep centres/testing sites in the United States. If I recall, there are several in NY area.
The Promise of Sleep was written by Dr. William C. Dement, who is the pioneer and founder of sleep medicine in America, a major player in the foundation of the world renound department of Sleep Medicine at Stanford Univ., and the man who founded the Apnea Index (in conjunction with with Dr. Christian Guillesminault).
