I don't think these test are commonly done. When I go to any ENT doctor off the top of my head, they never do such a test. The only doctors that did the test on me were the ones I carefully selected and who had good reputations. I never had this done during a sleep lab test. I think it would be more accurate if it was done in that setting, instead of just have me lie down. It seems like the information is good if you need additional surgery, in cases where it didn't pin point all the obstruction before the previous surgery. But I believe what's confusing doctors is if you remove one obstruction, there's no way of measuring how much it's going to affect the other obstruction. I had obsruction in the nasals and the throat. When I had the nasal surgery, it felt like more pressure went to my throat. I suppose it's even more difficult when you have multiple sites of obstruction in the lower airway. This gets sort of complicating. I hope I answered your questions.
