Anti-Depressants and Sleep Apnea

Posted by todd on September 28, 2007 at 14:53:03:

My sleep doc just suggested I go on an anti-depressant. It's a low dose of lexapro. I noticed in reading the pamphlet, that insomnia is one of the possible side effects. I was wondering what your experience has been in taking an anti-depressant if you think it interfered with your sleep or not.

I'm apprehensive because after several years on cpap, I now have an auto-pap and everything seems to be just right so I'm sleeping through the night for the first time in 6-7 years. I started the anti-depressant yesterday and woke up at 4am and couldn't go back to sleep. Now I'm wondering if this is such a good idea.

Any feedback on your experience is welcome.
