Hyperventilation and Apnea

Posted by Lorzant on October 03, 2007 at 14:01:11:

I'm wondering whether anyone out there with Apnea also has trouble with daytime hyperventilation. I'm not so sure anyone gets diagnosed with 'hyperventilation' I think its usually seen as a symptom of anxiety.

I'm interested in whether disordered daytime respiratory habits exacerbate apnea, or whether apnea causes disordered daytime respitation. I'm trying to make an educated guess as to whether breath retraining methods like the Buteyko method could be helpful for apnea.
