Hint: If the area code is 516 (Nassau County) or 631 (Suffolk County) it is Long Island; otherwise it’s not! The N.Y. City boroughs of Queens and Brooklyn are also geographically part of Long Island, but are not considered part of “Long Island” in everyday parlance.
