Based on some comments in this forum, I expected to lose weight when I started CPAP five or six years ago. Instead, I've gained about 10 pounds. My theory is that I no longer burn calories while sleeping. Prior to CPAP, I tossed and turned all night long. Now I lie there peacefully. That's eight hours of inactivity as opposed to eight hours of restlessness before CPAP.
