I do not think an uninformed person should be experimmenting with settings, but see little problems if a person understands such.
Several studies show that a person can very accurately determine proper pressure.
Thise with an autopap can have clear data for this.
Those with plain cpap will have nothing to help here except their subjective feelings that can be very misleading..
