Do you have any sort of insulating sleeve for the hose? That will cut down or eliminate rainout. I even have a little insulating mask cover that I use in the winter time. If you cut the humidifier down too much, you'll lose the benefit of the humidity and wind up with sinus congestion, etc.

Overall is pretty darn good for the first night. Many people can tolerate only an hour or two to start. This sounds funny, but practice breathing in a relaxed fashion and I think you'll fall into an easy routine with the pressure. Lie on your back without the machine, inhale deeply -- stomach should rise. Exhale easily by letting your stomach fall. This is the way a baby breathes. We often develop bad breathing habits as we grow up, but if you practice this a bit, I think you'll find you don't even notice the pressure any more. It's astonishing how quickly we can acclimate to it.

Now, with any luck at all, you'll be able to wean off the anti-depressants. Many, many apneics are misdiagnosed and inappropriately medicated.
