Sleep apnea & diabetes complication

Posted by baydreamer7 on November 13, 2007 at 06:35:17:

Hi. Wondered if anyone knew of an answer to this question. Been a CPAP user for almost 4 years, and I am also diabetic. I've been struggling to get my diabetes under control for some time, and I'm particularly struggling with high blood glucose readings in the morning. I am experiencing some problems at night (waking up with heart pounding, trouble falling back to sleep, etc.) and I suspect this may be contributing to my high morning numbers. Anyone else have any experience with this? Incidentally, I just got a new nasal interface which works great, but maybe too great. Had a horrible night. I think my pressure may be too high. Got up around 3:30 totally exhausted, tight chest, etc. Took my blood sugar and it was 319. Way too high. I think there's a connection. Anyone have any thoughts? Thanks
