I suppose this is getting off the subject of sleep apnea, but are you saying that a person can have high fasting blood sugar levels in the morninig (I've heard called the Dawn Effect)and not have a blood sugar problem? My doc wanted me to start taking metformin, but I just changed my diet a little instead. Doc says I'm okay now. My A1C tests have been in the normal range, and the fasting tests were only averaging 113. I've been concerned that I'm probably still pre-diabetic. Also, could there still be a connection between using a CPAP and having higher blood sugar levels in the morning? It's just such a coincidence that I started both about the same time. Thanks! Hope you're dealing well with your type 2.
