there is some research published in the last while that shows resistance training at 80% of capacity is equally effective at lifting depression as antidepressants are. One of the authors is Fiattorone another is I think Singh if you did a search on pubmed you should find it.The resaerch was conducted by sydney university health sciences and is very solid. i am trying it, not easy becasuee of past injuries, but figure I'll give it my best try.
