I have to second BreathingEZ's request for less than anecdotal proof on this one. If you have some study information, that would be useful.

I won't stoop as low as to sling ad hominems around but I'm not going to be easy. What you are saying makes good health sense, although I am disinclined to drink soy milk personally. If what you are saying is true then I should have been rid of sleep apnea long ago--when I was a vegan and skinny.

This is the truth, I gained weight and the pressure I needed went down. When I lose weight, I need more pressure. If I regain the weight, I need less pressure again. Unfortunately, this goes against your premise. I don't see how the two can be reconciled. This is why I would like to see more proof of your statement in "study" form.

Hasty generalizations such as "everybody knows that" or "its been around for centuries" are not proof and fallacious.

Are you a recovered sleep apneac? Is this how you beat the OSA life-taker? Why are you on this forum? If this is your victory story, honestly, please share it. I would like to read your story. It will be encouraging to some, but for me, I had apnea when I was young, skinny, and healthy.

BTW In the year 2000 here in the USA, the definition of OSA changed from 15 events per hour to 5 or above. I had a sleep test early in that year, and they said the insurance wouldn't cover the CPAP device bcoz my AHI was only a 14.7. I wish the doctor would have called me by the end of the year and had me retested!

Offering the definition as one adopted by medical professionals (which are doing so after years of numerous studies supporting their claim that OSA is a dangerous condition and needs treatment), then requiting it with anecdotal evidence is truly antithetic and unfounded.

Anyway, have a good sleep--the both of you!
