I think Dr. Dement said it quite eloquently in that human upper airways have a propensity to narrow due to the fact that it is used not only for breathing and eating, but articulate speech as well. I have been a distance runner and an athlete all my life. My resting HR is 49. And, I have had UARS for most of my life as well. It took about 10 seconds for Drs. KL and CG, at Stanford to see I have a narrow airway and a stage 3 to 4 palate. I am not a vegan, but I eat pretty healthy. I know that if I drink alcohol, or have a big meallate in the evening I am going to have more events. So I do eat well and exercise, but I would be in bad shape if I hadn't had apnea surgery and/or used CPAP. So it was the cows after all?
