I agree, if someone knows they have sleep apnea the first response should be treatment. The next response could be a healthy diet.
A healthy diet and exercise is a benefit to anyone with or without a disorder. A healthy diet and exercise may work to decrease the CPAP pressure needed, however, for the majority of people with sleep apnea the is a heredity component. Specifically the shape of our face (bone structure) with its effect on our airway are given to us by our parents. Diet and exercise will not change the shape of our bones but it can reduce the amount of excess tissue in the airway which in turn may reduce the pressure needed for CPAP.
There are many studies looking at heredity and sleep apnea.
To be the best you can be, use cpap along with a healthy diet and exercise.
