This does appear to be rainout (i.e. condensation).

Place the humidifier – or the entire unit if it is an integrated one – lower than your head. This will allow any water in the hose to drain back to the reservoir instead of towards your nose. This can be done immediately, it requires no additional equipment. Another thing that you can do is insulated the hose. Additionally, you can raise the temperature in the room, or lower the humidifier setting.
