New CPAP and Mouth Opening

Posted by D.H. on January 02, 2008 at 17:52:33:

About two years ago, I replaced my old noisy F&P CPAP with a new quiet F&P CPAP. Since then I noticed a tendency to wake up with my mouth open and dry. I tested the machine constantly, it put out the prescribed pressure. I checked all the usual suspects, such as a leaky hose or mask. Not of those were present.

Finally, I figured it out after two years! The old CPAP forced me to keep my mouth closed by virtue of its noisiness! If I opened my mouth, the noise was so deafening that I would close it again immediately! The quiet CPAP lacks this means of enforcement!
