I always fly with my CPAP nested among soft things in my carryon. In Dec., (Seattle) for the first time, it was suggested that in the future, I take it out and put it in the bin separately as things are initially sent through the machine. It has become the practice that they "dust it with the pad" and send it back through. Every airport seems to be a little different. Nothing was said about it being in it's own soft, (useless) bag.

I have to add that in SEATAC we are always in a "handicapped" line where they have to examine my 84 year old husband's below-knee prosthesis, his buckles on the prosthetic belt, etc.,etc.,etc.

What good do they think it would do if it were in its own box. They wouldn't give it a "pass"; they'd still give it the same examination. Guess we're are lucky if they don't dig out the cord, and test if it "blows"!
