Sleeping elevated should definitely improve your situation. It may not alleviate all apneic events (depending on the severity), but it should definitely help.

Multiple pillows can be used to get this affect. You may also try to put phone books or cinder blocks under your bed or mattress.

Sleeping on your side also will improve the siutation is your apnea is mild.
