long Septoplasty Recovery

Posted by sleepyhead on January 17, 2008 at 18:04:27:

I had my septoplasty over a month ago and am still not feeling right. I'm still very congested and have extreme nausea. The nausea is worse in the morning and I'm also extremely fatigued. I think the nausea is due to sinuses still draining but how long is this going to go on for? I have not been back to work since the surgery because I feel so bad. I went back to my ENT Dr who did a CT scan and showed me the septum is straight and complimented himself on what a great job he did. I showed him my throat and how red it was and told him how congested I was. He said it had nothing to do with the surgery and put me on Levaquin, that was a week and a half ago and still no relief. I think he was basically covering his ass against any possible malpractice suit I might have been thinking of doing on him. I have no intention of that though, I just want to feel well again. I was so disappointed with my ENT I went to the walk in clinic. Dr said he wants to try a different antibiotic, cephalexin, since it's in a different family. ENT dr had me on Levaquin and Avelox. Yesterday I went to an Internist and she ordered up a fecal, urine, blood, ultra sound and chest x-ray. She is thinking maybe Lyme diesase, ulcer, mono, gallbladder or something else. After obsessively researching on the Internet I'm wondering if it just might be post nasal drip making me so nauseous and in return the nausea makes me feel lethargic. I can't miss anymore work, the bills are piling up, thank God for health insurance. Anyone else experience or heard of these symtoms or taking so long to recover?
