Posted by GTOdude on January 31, 2008 at 08:23:47:I have been diagnosed with severe sleep apnea. I got a brand new BIPAP with a humidifier and a nasal pillow mask which is quite comfy by these standards. Normally I would only sleep an hour or two at a stretch and wake up with headaches, sore chest and be a walking dead man. I am also a triple bypass patient so I already got heart probs. Using the machine last night, I slept for three hours and woke up. I changed my position and slept three more and woke up. Its now 4AM and I cant fall back asleep so Im laying there and I actually feel myself stop breathing and I then catch myself and get this rush and it scares the bejeebies out of me. I remember having a few wierd dreams too so I must be dozing off also. But this goes on every couple minutes til about a quarter to six when I take off the mask and get up. I feel lousy, minor headache and no energy. Called the dr, should see him tomorrow. Anyone ever have this, or know anything about this symptoms? I'm almost scared to go to bed!
