How is it known that this person is "in need of treatment for Apnea?" If there already is a diagnosis, that's one obstacle out of the way! However, it is illegal in the U.S. to give a machine and just "guess" what the prescription ought to be. If this person has a valid prescription, then I imagine he (or she) can get somebody to donate a used machine.

For other illnesses, on can go to the emergency room, but I don't think that would work here!
