I would think you should ask them to send you home with an APAP for several nights and monitor the data.
You should get much better data in your own bed and home than the scary room.

Then insist on an APAP and be able to check your progress at any time.

There seems to be an increasing use of home testing with APAP, especially for those who cannot afford the costs.
