HELP!!! Klonopin or Ambvien

I have finally after some trying years (I won't belabor you on this)been diagnosed w/Sleep Apnea & severe sleep fragmentation with idiopahtic hypersomina. The doctor is starting me on Klonopin .5 mg. Is anyone familiar with this medication. Please let me know how it worked/works for you. I have excessive daytime sleepiness that I've been grapping with for years and wanted to know if this will help.
