Thank You to ALL who replied. Yes, I have type 2 diabetes and that suggestion has been put into play by both my pcp and my Podiatrist.
I try NOT to sleep on my back too much because of back and neck injuries, I have bulging discs in my neck and in my lower lumbar and unfortunately I'm stuck with an innerspring mattress and even with 4 1-2" thick foam mattress pads, doesn't help to alleviate any pain from the springs digging into my back, so I spend ALOT of time sleeping on my side. I've actually started sleeping on my loveseat in a more seated position but when I do that, I notice that my legs and knees are very sore in the morning...*sigh* so I'm just out of luck either way I go. IF I had the money, I'd get one of those Select Comfort or Select Number Beds or Tempurpedic Mattresses, but those things are expensive and I survive on very little income each month. My podiatrist mentioned the Plantar Fasciitis once but until we get some better xrays and possibly an MRI on the nerves and such we don't really know what to expect.
I do see my podiatrist tomorrow in the afternoon and I will certainly let ya'll know what she says. If my foot problem is somehow related to the CPAP and my diabetes in one, that's what we need to know so that the appropriate people can be told and can advise any of their diabetic patients that this can happen to them as well. I'm not trying to just look out for me, I'm looking out for other people as well, it's just part of my nature, helping people is what I do.
IF I could afford the expensive sneakers I would probably buy them, but my shoes come from Walmart, when you don't have alot of cash, you go where you can get the best buys. I do have arch supports that I put into my right shoe since that is the one foot that bothers me right now, but I also do have memory foam insoles in my left shoe, just to kinda balance myself out.
Again, thank you to all who replied, I appreciate ya'll taking time out of your busy days/nights/middle of the night "I can't sleep so I might as well be on here" session to reply to me. :o)
Thank You,
MrsBatista
