Posted by mb3986 on March 10, 2008 at 03:26:37:I just went for my sleep study three days ago. It was a split study. So, after the sensors detected more than the required number of "incidents", the technician fitted me with a CPAP mask. I adjusted to wearing the mask and the noise of the air pump much more quickly than I anticipated.
The only problem I had was when I had to walk down the hall to the bathroom. I felt disoriented. The mask left me with a large blind spot directly in front of me and was unable to see the same object with both eyes at the same time. As my eyes and brain worked overtime to compensate, I soon had a serious headache. As soon as I returned to bed and the lights were turned down, my headache went away.
Has anyone else experienced this? Is it something you adjust to or is there something that can be done about it?
