If you really feel there was a mix up in paper work, you should ask for a copy of the results. There should be enough information provided for you to know if it was your study or someone else's. Just knowing the lights out, light on time, and timing of other events during the night could show a match or mismatch.

There will probably be other events noted that will help.

As far as I know, all patients have a right to view the detailed results of their sleep study. They are frequently posted here.
