Gout, autism and sleep apnea

Posted by Alamo Joe on March 24, 2008 at 08:29:01:

My GP told me to watch my purines because I had high levels of uric acid. If I did not watch my purines I would have gout.

I was not despondent, I figured that was sleep apnea again.

When I got home, I hit the Internet looking for patient profile. You can guess what it said. "Overweight males and women after menopause." Sound familiar?

I checked for papers. One said that levels of uric acid
were directly related to AHI. Another said that use of CPAP
reduced the level of uric acid.

For a number of years I have been researching sleep apena and its relation to autism. I have been of the opinion that sleep apnea causes ear infection, enuresis, reflux, colitis and other ailments associated with autism.

Talking to myself: "You have all these ailments associated with autism which you claim are caused by sleep apnea,…if you are correct then you shouldn't you find gout or high levels or uric acid in autistic children." Yes!!!! (Page & Coleman)

Earlier I had found that bottle feeding was a risk for the disorders associated with autism. Another Question for Joe:
If the ailments associated with autism are a risk of bottle feeding what about autism? Is bottle feeding a risk for autism? Approximate quote: "-- early weaning seems to be a factor in the etiology of infantile autism". Tanoue

I am unhappy, I got a rejection overnight. "Too speculative." An acquaintance pointed out that autism is emotional and in my opinion it is also political. Now for plan 16 and 3/4.

I will not admit it, but I could be wrong. The findings on 'weaning' and 'gout' were logical from the relationships of the other disorders.

I am hanging tough, I hope that you can too. I feel that it would wrong for me to give up when I feel that I have the answer and the other researchers are not close to looking in the correct area.

Thanks for your forbearance.
