no REM sleep?

Posted by sophiemarie on March 26, 2008 at 11:47:40:

My fiance complained that I snore loudly. I went to an ENT and she determined that I have a deviated septum and slightly enlarged tonsils. She suggested I have a sleep study done to see if I had sleep apnea.

I had three studies done and none of them showed apnea - just mild snoring. But they did show that I do not reach REM sleep. I don't have the results of the studies, but I slept for 4 hours for the first study and 7 and 8 hours for studies 2 and 3.

I don't experience any tiredness or fatigue during the day. Should I be concerned that I am lacking REM sleep? My ENT has referred me to a sleep neurologist.
