That was my previous unit, but I had several problems with that unit as well. Mostly reliability problems from the small-tube connection (I connect/disconnect frequently because of travelling) and also I went through 3 units in about 3-4 years - experienced a similar problem where it would hang at a high pressure for no apparent reason in some periods (and sometimes it would go away). I think this was related to the small pressure tube connection.
I'm a bit surprised that a APAP doesn't mean up and down, but only up adjustment. I have a lot of snoring events as the pressure goes up (even though my apneas don't necessarily seem to after a certain point) and so the pressure goes up to maximum trying to bring down the snoring events. My doc believes that the noise may be due to mask leakage at the higher pressure and the noise just looks like snoring to the machine.
I guess there is no perfect machine.
