The sleep study was performed using comprehensive polysomnography(CPT 95810)
the patients sleep was disturbed with sleep disordered breathing. The patient had an apnea/hypopnea index of 8.5. there were 2 apneas and 48 hypopneas. These events were 100.0% obstructive events. The average duration of the events was 15.5 seconds and the longest was 24.7 seconds. the sleep latency was 19.9 minutes and the sleep efficiency was 85.6%.
Stage AWAKE 14.4% Stage1 2.3% Stage 2 68.1% Stage 3/4 0.0% Stage REM 5.2% (Normative values: Stage 1 2-7%, Stage 2 45-65%, Stage 3/4 10-15%, Stage REM 15-20%)
the baseline o2 saturation was 95.8% with a low SaO2 of 90.0%. Average heart rate was 60.0BPM with a minimum of heart rate of 50.0 and a maximum of 80.0.
There were 6 episodes of PLMS(Periodic Limb Movements during Sleep) with an index of 1.0.
There were 55 arousals and micrarousals from sleep and 13 awakenings. Morderate snoring was heard during the night.
