Hello,

Is your mask fitting properly? Does your mouth open when you sleep with a nasal mask?

Either of these and the CPAP cannot work properly. Do not assume either is not happening. Video tape yourself sleeping and watch and listen.

Many people need to wear a chin strap to keep their mouth closed when they sleep. If the mouth opens with a nasal mask the CPAP is useless.

A leaky mask may reduce the CPAP pressure below what is prescribed for your condition to overcome the obstructive apnea.

It was months before I noted improvements but they did come with time. You cannot catch up on years of sleep deprivation in a few days.

Later,
