mouth breathing and CPAP

Posted by Mr. D on May 28, 2008 at 07:25:45:

I've always breathed through my mouth, my nose is perpetually stuffed up. Tried every medicine in the book, nothing helps. So naturally normal nasal CPAP is out of the question. I tried a full face mask and can get by with that if I absolutely have to (or so I hope). Naturally its extremely uncomfortable and my cluastraphobia doesn't help matters. At any rate I've found a type of mask that just goes over your mouth, and you wear nose plugs to prevent air leaking out the nose. It seems this type of mask goes inside your mouth, I guess kinda like a scuba divers respirator. These type of masks seem relatively new and I was wondering if anyone has experience with this vs the full face type mask.
