Yes, apnea could completely explain your lack of stage 3/4, your tired feeling, and your muscle/joint pain.

53 arousals per hour is basically continous. That's your personal cycle time to get to sleep, airway collapse, jerked out of sleep to restart. For some people this is longer, some a tad bit shorter.
