I not familiar with somatoform disorder. Seems to be a little different than fibromyalgia. Not uncommon for sleep apnea to make other disorders worse. I noticed somatoform is very rare so it could be a wrong diagnosis. (My opinion only)

Often central apnea is treated with a BiLevel machine with a wide range in pressure. I've seen it work with post polio patients. However, many times OSA will presents as CA and once you are put on a standard CPAP machine it will go away. Sometimes called cpap responders or cpap non-responders. You should get a second opinion from a board certified sleep doc.

Again, this is my opinion and shouldn't take the place of consulting with a sleep specialist.
