APAP is auto adjusting CPAP. It doesn't work like Bi-Level devices. It changes the pressure, using different algorithms, so on certain nights or sleeping in different positions etc., you may need more or less pressure and it adjust to that pressure need.

With APAP the pressure level will vary during the night but not between breaths. With Bi-Level the inhaling and exhaling pressures will remain constant during the night, at different levels, which is needed for CSA.
