Indiana CDL requirements

Posted by piper's son on July 10, 2008 at 19:55:46:

my doctor is telling me that I need to average 6 hours of CPAP use every night to pass CDL reqirements. I recived a letter from the state of Indiana that in one year I will need #1 copies of one years worth of download from your NPAP machine to document compliance

#2 a current statement from the physician currently treating your sleep disorder that addresses each of the following

the driver is getting adequate hours of nightly NPAP usage

the driver is getting adequate sleep hours in general

the driver's symptoms of sleepiness have been resolved

Your physician's professional opion as to whether you are medically able to safely operate a commercial motor vehicle

to me this is a invasion of my privacy. I can't find anything in rules and regs on sleep apnea and the doc said he has nothing in print but it is their rules {meaning the state} not his. can anyone in the state of Indiana with a current CDL give me any info on this matter.
