Day 3 ! What a difference :)

Posted by daldei on July 12, 2008 at 08:01:34:

Today is Day 3 ... what a difference !
I actually slept TEN hours with the CPAP only waking a couple times to roll over or adjust my mask. I can feel my body starting to adjust and not fight it anymore. No longer am I having trouble exhaling, in fact I dont even notice the presure... amazing. I think Ihave the mask adjusted well now too because I am not getting the mark on my nose bridge that I got 2 nights ago yet still the same leak rate (.36). I think I had it a tad too tight before. And I'm getting so I dont really notice if the mask is even on, unless I shift too much and put presure on it, but I'm learning to wiggle a bit to get it back in place without fully waking up.

And best of all I feel GREAT !
I woke up a bit groggy ... and felt like my head was in a balloon ... took a couple hours for that to wear off ... but I dont feel tired one bit, in fact I feel "clear" ... its like the world has a little extra sparkle to it ... and interstingly my alergies are the best in a long time. I took the advise of letting the CPAP blow the air thorugh my nose and out my mouth for a minute before starting, and occasionally when I woke up I'd do that again and for the first time in months (years ?) I woke with both nostrals clear ! usually by 4 or 5am one or both of them are clogged, and I didnt take any more or different alergy medicine then I usually do. I've been mowing all morning and they are still clear ! (well I AM on drugs ... but still, even with the zyrtech, mowing usually does me in...)

I'm hoping this keeps up and isnt just "beginners luck".

Thanks everyone for having a place to post this stuff !
