A Sharp Intake Of Breath

Posted by EnglishEric on July 24, 2008 at 02:30:47:

I have just recently joined and wish I had seen this forum years ago. I am based in the U.K. The British NHS is several years behind America in Sleep Disorders and although I have had sleep studies since 1990 it wasn't until 2006 that I was diagnosed with OSA after spending a fortune in Harley Street London. I have used my Resprionics Auto for 2 years now and have clocked up 3,000 hours use, for most of that time it has been wonderful. However, in recent months I have developed a worrying habit of 'Catching my Breath/A sharp intake of Breath' which racks my body (it is a spasm of some sort), this happens several times in the first half hour of wearing my mask, there is no warning and I have no idea when the next will happen. As a result I often take the mask off for an hour or two. The British Doctors describe this as "innocent" which just means that you don't die of it . Sorry to be so long winded but is this unique? or has anyone got any answers for me? Sad Sad EnglishEric
