sleep apnea or not?

Hello, I found this site trying to search for what may be happening to me. This happens usually only when taking certain antibiotics. I violently jerk myself awake not breathing. I am being treated for tick-borne diseases so using antibiotics right now is not much of an option. Just wondering if anyone knows what is going on. My doc recommended a CPAP but he is not certain it will help. Thanks.
