There is no certainty with any treatment. However, the likelihood of CPAP helping is very high.
You are probably experiencing sleep apnea throughout the night, with or without antibiotics, and on rare occasions you wake up to breath. Most people have a quick arousal and go back to sleep without any memory of the event at all.
You should try CPAP ASAP.
