Don't know about exercises, but concermomg weight loss, the key thing to know is that weight gain can cause fat deposits inside the throat and airway. That makes the airway more narrow. Check out this website. You can see some scopes of people who lose weight. http://www.sleep-breathing.bc.ca/effects.htm#weightloss

About stuttering, I don't think it has much any connection to OSA or weight loss. If you check out the wikipedia site, and search "stuttering", you will see that people who stutter are able to speak normally when they speak in choral speaking situations. In other words, let's say that you had one person who stuttered a lot. For example, say that guy went to church -e.g. a Catholic Mass, etc. - and he recited prayers along with a big crowd of people, or for example, if he said the pledge of allegiance with the other members of his class; In these cases, he would be just fine. Now, if that same person went on a job interview and had to introduce himself to a potential boss who was a complete stranger and he felt that he was in a stressful situation, the person would stutter a lot. What does that say? Stuttering is directly related to anxiety. It is not physiological in nature. From what I understand, stuttering can be treated in most cases. Check out the wikipedia site.
